‘Make your will as jade.’ That is what "Jimin" means in the Chinese character jin zhì min. It is a simple and strong namewith roots that incite one to wander into the story of one's process of transformation and constant self-exploration. Jimin's story began the day she was born, twenty-three years ago to be exact. Back then, she had mundane expectations about her future, but she also had a solid self-confidence fueled by the pride of her parents and a joyful life. However, she did not feel fulfilled and realized how monotonous her life was becoming. Thus, along with her eagerness for exploration, a genuine passion for life, and the necessity for change, she embarked on a journey to China and visited more than twenty places, such as Qingdao, Beijing, Xi'an. This experience represented a new beginning in many aspects of Jimin's life. First, it led her to redefine her sense of belonging, which reflects in her being part of a community where love and respect prevail. Second, it let her rediscover what she loves, which, in her words, is the beauty created by nature and society. Third, this experience allowed her to live more intensively every moment of her life. Now, most of the things that she appreciates are the life’s most imperceptible features, such as listening to the sound of the guitar, or contemplating the very delicate fall of a flower petal. , Food is also on the list of things that now she intensively experiences. An expression of delight invaded her face when she talked about the Huo gnō (Chinese hot pot). A meal that leads her to reminiscenceabout long nights in the countryside villages, conversations with the local people, and laughs with her road mates. Lastly, one of the most important things this long trip let her discover, is that to be happy, it is necessary to be--and nothing else.
